Professional Experience

Bridges

• Checked design details, and, wrote and administered Contract Document for the deck replacement of a three-span, slab on girder bridge for the Regional Municipality of Niagara.
• Performed a Structural Analysis/Evaluation and prepared summary reports for three Metro Toronto Bridges. Evaluations were done in accordance with the Ontario Highway Bridge Design Code.
• Completed a survey and visual inspection of eight culvert structures for the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario. Performed structural and hydraulic analysis and prepared a summary report and cost estimate for future work for each structure.
• Checked rehabilitation structural design details for three Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), Highway 400 Bridge overpasses. Assisted with preparation of MTO contract documents.

Hydrologic/Hydraulic

• Performed detailed hydraulic analysis for backwater flooding of new bridge structure in the Town of Lincoln, Ontario.
• Constructed and calibrated Hydrologic and Hydraulic computer models of existing sewerage systems in the City of Plymouth, UK.

Municipal

• Designed and prepared Site Servicing Scheme and Storm Water Management Plan for new subdivision development in the City of Welland, Ontario.
• Designed on-line attenuation tanks and combined storm overflows for sewerage systems in Cornwall, UK.

Environmental

• Inspected commercial and industrial properties for environmental liabilities. Wrote and compiled Phase I Environmental Assessment reports and Environmental Audits.
• Wrote and compiled a Ministry of Natural Resources Project Information Package for a small hydroelectric station in the City of North Bay, Ontario.

Field Work/Site Inspection

• Performed site inspections of new construction details for commercial buildings.
• Administered the Contract Document and inspected the placement of a pump station and corresponding gravity sewer and forcemain in the Town of Powassan, Ontario.
• Inspected the placement of a sanitary trunk sewer into a sewage treatment facility in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
• Supervised the removal of underground storage tanks and soils contaminated with Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons from industrial properties.
• Co-ordinated and performed detailed field surveys using a Topcon Total Station. Graded and placed offset stakes for the construction of new curbs and sidewalks.
