The Brain
Injury Association
of Niagara will attempt
to maximize the quality of life for
individuals and families living with the
effects of an acquired brain injury by:
- Providing information regarding
services, treatment and
rehabilitation.
- Connecting with other community
services in order to provide a
link for our members.
- Promoting recreation and leisure
activities for members and their
families.
- Supporting members through our Friends
Helping Friends
peer support group. Off-site
meetings are held monthly in
Niagara Falls and Welland, and
weekly in St. Catharines. There
is also an on-site monthly minor
brain injury group.
- Providing a monthly support group
for spouses of survivors with ABI.
- Providing family support through
informational meetings.
- Providing a quarterly newsletter
for our members.
- Advocating on behalf of the
individual and their family.
Beyond the above services
which are consumer driven, BIAN
attempts to liaise with the community by:
- Providing educational information
regarding prevention through our
annual symposium, health care
agencies and community groups.
