Spousal/Caregiver
Support Group

These meetings are facilitated by Pauline
Thivierge, and are held at the BIAN
office location at 111 Church Street, in the room
located on your right as you enter the building
through the main entrance. Meetings are
held on a monthly basis, on THURSDAY
evenings, at the BIAN office
location, 111 Church Street, from 7:00 to 8:30
p.m. (enter through the main entrance of building
and turn immediately to your right, room is
located adjacent to ladies washroom). These
support meetings are for caregivers who may be
spouses, parents, or adult siblings of an
individual that has sustained brain injury.
St. Catharines Peer Support

Our peer support group meetings are held on a
weekly basis every Tuesday from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
at the St. Catharines Library located at 54
Church Street, in the Rotary room.
Welland/Fonthill/Port
Colborne/Fenwick

Our monthly meetings are located at the St.
Davids Anglican Church, located at 369
Thorold Road, in Welland, on the upper level, and
are wheelchair accessible via elevator. Monthly
meetings are held on Friday from 1:30 to 3:00
p.m.S
Niagara Falls Peer Support

Meetings are held Friday mornings in Niagara
Falls. Meetings start at 9:30 a.m. Call
office for location. Members attending the
meetings must reside in Niagara Falls.
Moving Ahead After Brain Injury

This peer based support group will be
facilitated by BIAN staff.
Sessions will be scheduled twice a month, on
Thursday afternoons. This is targeted towards
those survivors who have sustained a mild
traumatic brain injury, and who want to get on
with their lives post-injury. Please note that BIAN
reserves the right to restrict participation and
space is limited. If you are interested, please
call the office. Participants will be provided
with the date and times for these sessions.
Art For Relaxation

Therapeutic art classes with Melanie start
this month. Artist Melanie Pyke, while
specializing in oil/acrylic paintings in her own
work wants to share her versatile skills with
participants in Art Classes for Relaxation. She
will coach participants in such projects as:
expressing pieces of music through line and
colour; edible art; such as cake decorating;
keeping a sketchbook as a visual journal; art on
fabric; releasing tension through drip style
painting techniques; and watercolour tricks and
techniques, etc. Classes will be held twice a
month for 7 weeks, from 2 to 4 p.m. starting
Monday, September 17th . Most materials will be
supplied. You will have opportunities to complete
various creative projects. Location: BIAN,
111 Church Street, St. Catharines. The class will
be limited to 10 individuals. Participants are
expected to make their own transportation
arrangements. Pre-registration
is required, so if you are
interested in participating please call the
office at 905 984-5058 prior to the start date.
Class size is limited to 8 to 10 individuals for
this series of sessions.
