Spousal/Caregiver
Support Group

These spousal/caregiver meetings are
facilitated by Pauline Thivierge, and are held at
the BIAN office location at
Stokes Community Village, 36 Page Street, St.
Catharines. As you enter the long parking lot,
proceed to the main entrance where the glass
doors are in the centre of the building. Meetings
are held on a monthly basis, on THURSDAY
evenings, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. (Nearest major
intersection Queenston Street/Page Street or
Welland Avenue/Page Street.). These support
meetings are for caregivers who may be spouses,
parents, or adult siblings of an individual that
has sustained brain injury. Decembers
meeting will be a Pot Luck Supper, and the group
will meet in the Community Room. (This is the
large community room located straight ahead as
you enter the building. The next meeting will
take place on Thursday, January 6. (Room location
to be announced later.)
St. Catharines Peer Support

Our peer support group meetings are held on a
weekly basis every Tuesday from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
at the St. Catharines Library located at 54
Church Street, in the Rotary room. Our last
meeting for the year is Tuesday, December 14, and
after this we will take a seasonal break. Regular
Meetings will resume Tuesday, January 4,
2011.
Welland/Fonthill/Port
Colborne/Fenwick

Our monthly meetings are located at the St.
Davids Anglican Church, located at 369
Thorold Road, in Welland, on the upper level, and
are wheelchair accessible via elevator. Our
meetings are from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. and here are
the dates:
Friday, November 26 and Friday, December 10.
Regular monthly meetings will resume in January
after the seasonal break.
Niagara Falls Peer Support

Members attending the meetings must reside in
Niagara Falls. Call the office for location and
time.
Moving Ahead After Brain Injury

This closed peer based support group
facilitated by Sherrie Bieman-Copland features
sessions scheduled twice a month, on Thursday
afternoons. Dates for the sessions for 2011 will
be announced later. This is targeted towards
those survivors who are post-injury a few years
and who want to get on with their lives. Please
note that BIAN reserves the
right to restrict participation. Space is limited
and at this time sessions are full. Participants
will be provided with the dates and times for
these meetings.
