This a short item so I'll print the whole thing.
WINNIPEG (CP)-The Crown has every right to seize a
Winnipeg gun collector's $1,500 military rifle because
it could be converted into a fully automatic weapon, a
judge ruled Friday
Provincial court judge Ian Dubienski's ruling means
thousands of firearms in private hands could be
seized by the Crown using the same rules, claimed
the collector, Bernie Ost.
"They're probably going to go after other gun owners
with similar types in Canada," said Ost
What does this mean? It means that the Crown can now take from you any legally owned semi-automatic rifle capable of being converted to automatic fire. Several years ago, it was decided that no more guns of this type would be allowed into this country. Up until that time anyone could buy an fully automatic assault rifle that had been converted to semi-auto mode. All you needed was the standard Firearms Acquisition Certificate, there was no requirement to register, just as there was no requirement to register ANY long barrelled gun (rifles and shotguns).
All these guns that were already posessed by Canadians could be kept. However, they had to be registered. Now we see why. Armed with a list of all the law abiding gun owners that registered their weapons, the State can now confiscate these legally aquired, legally owned and properly registered guns.
Now we're being forced to register ALL rifles and shotguns. WHY? You know what they say: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!
Alan Rock once said that he could see no reason why any one who lives in the city who is not a hunter or a target shooter should own ANY type of gun. That right there shows the agenda of this government. Any one who hopes or feels differently is mistaken. The eventual aim of the government is to disarm ALL Canadians sooner or later. But, you can't disarm the people untill you know where the guns are, so step up, sign up, and wait for them to come take your guns away,
NOTE: This only applies to "honest citizens". Criminals get to keep their guns.
I'm sure that Mr Rock will be very happy when his new law is in effect. He's probably got his speach all worked out already. It will probably go something like this:
"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future".
Well, I'd at least hope Mr Rock would be original. That speach was already used by another politician. His name? ADOLF HITLER!
