DR. W. G. REIVE COLLECTION: CEMETERIES & GRAVES IN NIAGARA $60.00
77 Niagara District cemeteries transcribed by Dr. W. G. Reive between 1926 and 1931 before the damage and erosion that has taken place over the past sixty years erased the information forever.
With most transcriptions are included interesting and useful historical notes about the church and the cemetery, along with personal and genealogical information about the families and the individuals buried there.
Though each cemetery transcription is arranged in alphabetical order, the complete volume is indexed to enable the reader to look up a family name and turn immediately to every page on which that surname appears.
476 pages. Indexed. ISBN 1-895473-01-2
DR. W. G. REIVE COLLECTION: HISTORICAL & GENEALOGICAL NOTES $60.00
This is a companion volume to Cemeteries and Graves in Niagara by Dr. W. G. Reive. As he collected information from the grave stones, Dr. Reive investigated the genealogy of the pioneer families. Though transcribed exactly as he wrote them, Dr. Reive's notes have been reorganized and arranged under five chapter headings: The Loyalists (U.E.L.'s and Butler's Rangers); Crown Land Grants; Family Genealogies; The Doctors; and Church History/Wedding Accounts/Newspaper Clippings. An invaluable genealogical resource and a fascinating record of the history of early Niagara.
500 pages. Indexed. ISBN 1-895473-08-X
BURIAL RECORDS AND NOTATIONS OF WILLIAM DALTON 1845 to 1916 $80.00
William Dalton was the Sexton at Drummond Hill Cemetery in Niagara Falls between 1877 and 1916. These are the burial records that were kept by his predecessor, Emanuel Pidgeon, from 1845 until 1876 and then by Mr. Dalton from 1877 until his death in 1916. When William Dalton assumed responsibility for keeping the burial records he entered more than just the date and the name of the deceased. He would sometimes include identifying information and anecdotal comments about the deceased and would also describe weather conditions, the location of the grave, and give the name of the undertaker and that of the minister who conducted the service.
This is an invaluable genealogical resource, full of names, dates, and background information that cannot be found anywhere else.
572 pages. Indexed. ISBN 1-895473-07-1

Nothing can be more frustrating to the eager researcher than arriving in an unfamiliar area and not knowing where to begin. This is a county by county guide to genealogical sources in Ontario. A table of contents gives the page on which each county can be found and a fifty page index at the back of the book lists every township in Ontario, specifies the county or district, and gives the page on which it appears. Turning to a particular county you find the address and phone number of the land records office, information about any genealogical groups in the area, and the location of local libraries and museums that might contain genealogical information or a local history collection. Also an outline map of the county showing its division into townships and the location of its major cities and towns.

ONTARIO ARCHIVES LAND RECORDS INDEXES for LINCOLN, WELLAND & GLENGARRY CO.'s
Unlike the Ontario Archives Land Records Index, available on microfiche at most libraries, which lists crown land grants alphabetically by the grantee's surname, province wide, or by concession and lot by township, these indexes provide a collection of separate alphabetical listings, by surname of the grantee, of crown land grants assigned in the townships of Lincoln and Welland counties. The Index for Lincoln County contains the original lot assignments for the townships of Caistor, Clinton, Gainsborough, Grantham, Grimsby, Louth and Niagara. The Welland County index offers the same for the townships of Bertie, Crowland, Humberstone, Pelham, Stamford, Thorold, Wainfleet and Willoughby. In Glengarry County are found Charlottenburg, Kenyon, Lancaster, and Lochiel Townships. The headings in these indexes are: Name of Locatee, Lot Number, Concession, Residence, Date Identification, Issue Date, Transaction Type, Type of Free Grant, Type of Lease or Sale, Archival RG Series, and Reference Volume and Page. An index at the end of the book lists the surnames of the people who received land in that county and indicates in which townships listings for each name appear.

BIRTH, MARRIAGE & DEATH NOTICES IN THE EASTERN ONTARIO REVIEW
In 1993, THE REVIEW celebrates 100 years as a locally owned, independent newspaper. Published out of Vankleek Hill, Ontario since its first issue came off the press on Friday, December 15, 1893, this newspaper continues to serve its town and the surrounding communities in Prescott and Glengarry Counties. To mark its centennial, a project has been initiated to extract and publish, in their entirety, the thousands of birth, marriage and death notices that have appeared in its issues over the years. It is planned, over the next several years, to publish this material in ten volumes--one volume for each decade. To date, two volumes have been completed. Each section contains an alphabetical index of names along with the date and page number upon which the notice can be found. The volumes will be paged sequentially and when the project is completed a final volume will be issued offering a comprehensive index to the complete work.
VOLUME ONE: 1893-1899 270 pages. ISBN 1-895473-51-9 $ 45.00

BREADALBANE BAPTIST CHURCH RECORDS 1816 to 1991 $150.00 set
1991 marked the 175th year in the history of the Breadalbane Baptist Church in Lochiel Township, Glengarry County. It seemed fitting that this milestone should be commemorated with the transcription and publication of the Minute Books and Church Records of this historic congregation. Though the public has for some time had access to these records at McMaster Divinity College Archives where they have been placed for safe keeping, the records themselves have never been published and made available to people who wish to acquire a copy of their own for more detailed examination. Covering such a long period of time, these records contain a wealth of historical and genealogical information about the early families that settled in this area in 1815 and in the years since. A must for anyone researching a family from Glengarry and/or Prescott County. The book is divided into four volumes.
VOLUME I: CHURCH HISTORY, CHURCH MEMBERSHIP, MARRIAGE REGISTER
Chapter One contains a complete history of the church from its beginning in 1816 to the present time and includes 34 photographs and illustrations. Chapter Two contains several membership rosters as well as lists naming the people who contributed to church levies and subscriptions from as early as 1825. Chapter Three, the Church's Marriage Register, contains records of 221 marriages performed in and around Breadalbane.
328 pages. Indexed. ISBN 1-895473-10-1 $40.00
VOLUME II: MEETING MINUTES AND CHURCH DOCUMENTS
Chapter Four chronicles the actual day to day business of operating the church as its business proceedings are recorded in the minutes of the congregational and board meetings from February 1st, 1851 to December 1st, 1991. Chapter Five contains twenty-seven documents, reports, letters, and memorabilia. Chapter Six is a description of the various departments and committees of the Baptist Convention, a sample church constitution, and job descriptions for the various officers of the church.
568 pages. Indexed. ISBN 1-895473-11-X $60.00
VOLUME III: ANNUAL REPORTS $50.00
Annual Reports survive for all but fourteen of the years between 1919 and 1991, and actually Reports may not have been published in some of these years. Besides the financial statements, they provide a wonderful look at the work that was carried out by the congregation through its many groups and organizations. 586 pages. ISBN 1-895473-12-8
VOLUME IV: BREADALBANE COMMUNITY CEMETERY $20.00
The Breadalbane Community Cemetery is situated across the road from Breadalbane Baptist Church on the south half of Lot 7, concession 8 of Lochiel Township. This cemetery does not belong to the Breadalbane Church. It is a community cemetery with no formal connection to the church. However, it has been transcribed and included in the Breadalbane Baptist Church History because many of the people who are buried here were local residents and members of this particular congregation.
A Plot Holder's Map shows the division of the cemetery and an accompanying directory provides the names of the people who owned or own the various plots from the time of the earliest burials.
Burial Permits have been kept since 1962 and these are included for the additional information that they can provide the family researcher: the name of the deceased, the date of death, place of death, and the funeral home from which burial took place. 114 pages. Indexed. ISBN 1-895473-13-6
INDEX TO HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME RECORDS (Vankleek Hill, Ontario) $10.00
This is an alphabetical listing of the 900 and some funerals which have been conducted from Hillcrest Funeral Home in Vankleek Hill, Ontario over the past twenty-six years.
The index is in two parts. The first section provides the names of the deceased, the date of death, Hillcrest's file number, and the page on which this funeral is recorded.
In order to facilitate use of these funeral records for genealogical purposes, the names of the spouse and the parents of the deceased have also been indexed.
The last page of the index, a blank record form, has been included as an example of the information that is available for each funeral. Copies of specific pages from the Hillcrest Funeral Home Records may be ordered at a cost of $2.00 per page.
