ROBERT SETH WILLFORD m. Catherine Cook

Wainfleet--A well known resident and one highly respected, passed away on Thursday morning at his home in this township in the person of Robert S. Willford. Mr. Willford was cut down, one might say, in the prime of life, for he had just turned the half century mark. He was seized a month ago with cancer of the liver, from which dread malady there was no cure. His condition grew gradually worse so that in the latter days there was no hope of his recovery. He was a son of the late Seth Willford, and he leaves a wife, Catherine, daughter of the late John Cook of Forks Road, and five children--Seth of Welland, James at home, John, operator at Bridgeburg, Mrs. Leslie Robbins of Wainfleet, and Miss Laura. He leaves one brother, Fred, and three sisters--Mrs. James Hill of Welland, Mrs. Foss of River Bend, Mrs. Hall of Welland, Mrs. Clayton Augustine of Gas Line. The late Mrs. Peach of Welland was also a sister. To the bereaved ones a full measure of sympathy goes out from many friends to the family in the community. Mr. Willford was a Conservative and a member of the Methodist CHurch. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon with interment in Dawdy's burying ground. Rev. Mr. Hall of Fenwick conducted the ceremony.

The funeral was very largely attended, being one of the largest seen in the community in some years. The pall-bearers were three sons of the deceased, Seth, James and John, a son-in-law, Leslie Robbins, and two nephews from St. Catharines, Harry and John Willford.

ROBERT WILLFORD, a well-known and much respected resident of Wainfleet, passed to rest on Thursday last, in the 51st year of his age. His ailment was cancer of the liver. Deceased was a member of the Methodist Church. He leaves a widow, three sons--Seth of Welland, John of Bridgeburg, and James at home; and two daughters--Mrs. Leslie Robbins and Miss Laura.
